I took my sister to Vegas for a week to see her best friend and we spent a day or two walking down The Strip exploring all the hotels, malls, and casinos. There is so much to do here it was rather overwhelming. I really loved the 360 views from the top of the High Roller which we rode at sunset to catch Vegas in all its nighttime, sparkly glory. The view was just as brilliant as the one from the top of the Stratosphere where we enjoyed cocktails on one of our last nights in the city. We also visited the Seven Magic Mountains, which is a local art installation not too far out of the city. At that point our feet were aching but there was just still so much more to see and do. With a good nights rest we were refreshed and ready for the next day.

We spent the better part of an afternoon walking along Tulum’s gorgeous beach at sunset after filling our bellies with tacos (veggie for me). The food at the resorts bordering the beaches is a little pricier than in town but oh so delicious! The beaches were never as crowded as I anticipated, but that probably has something to do with the aforementioned resorts blocking public access. That is not to say you cannot go out there unless you are staying at one of these places because you totally can by just cutting through, which is what we did many times! It was well worth it, I mean just look at that stunning view!!
I love a good staycation. It is the perfect opportunity to kick back and relax when work and other responsibilities are stressing you out. I was lucky enough to be able to stay for a few days right on Clearwater Beach in Florida. Big white fluffy sheets, a gorgeous view of the beach from the hotel on one side and the harbor on the other, and endless opportunities to swim and soak up the sun. Loved every second! The pier was within walking distance and was lined with afternoon markets selling anything from seashells with your name on them to jewelry to glow-in-the-dark trinkets. There was also an entire section of sidewalk dedicated to beautiful chalk art (I think the Frankenstein monster was my favorite). The best part, though, had to be watching the sunset on the roof of the Hyatt eating free food. But honestly that is mostly because of the free food part 😉

We went to go see the balloon festival in Tampa and was a little disappointed that the balloons never made it off the ground! I guess we should have looked at the fine print, but the festival was still enjoyable either way 🙂
