I had been wanting to go back to the botanical gardens this year and planned to go this weekend only to find out it was their Spring Festival! There are vendors everywhere selling every plant and flower species imaginable. It was lovely walking around in the sunshine with a cool breeze checking out all the blooms. My sister bought me some flavored honey sticks: mango, watermelon, and wildflower this time. The honey is so fresh and there are hundreds of bees buzzing around pollinating the plants. We didn’t buy any honey this time around because I still have some left from the last time we went, but we did get a fresh guava-mango smoothie to enjoy whilst snapping some photos. I was hesitant about wearing a headband at first because of the heat, but paired with a top bun and large round sunnies it was the perfect amount of sun coverage while maintaining breathability. I am definitely keeping that combo in mind when we road trip to southern Texas a.k.a. desert wasteland next month!

Cozumel, Mexico can be very touristy as we found out walking along the main roads aligned with numerous shops and vendors yelling at you to buy all the things. So in light of taking a chance and being adventurous we got a moped and went off-roading to areas where there were more wild dogs than people. I was a bit scared but mostly excited to see what is normally unseen in Mexican rural areas. We drove pretty far out and thankfully the GPS didn’t fail or we would have been completely lost. There was just so much to see so I tried to include as much as possible in the video.
Almost out of the woods and off the muddy path the moped slipped right out from under us and I ended up with a skinned knee. Not letting that tumble dampen our spirits we did what any dirt-covered civilians would do and went snorkeling to clean off. The water was refreshing and crystal clear with little fishes swimming around in the coral. What little stress I felt from our fall earlier was easily drained away by the cool water. It may not have been the most conventional way to see Cozumel but it sure was the most thrilling travel experience I have had yet. My response to the question “Are you sure you want to spend the extra money for the moped?” will forever be “Hell yes, let’s make a memory!”
I have finally gotten around to putting the finishing touches on these photos. I had an enormous amount to sort through so it took quite a while. I will be working on the video next, it is gonna be spectacular! I’m so excited. This was my third cruise and I thought I could be somewhat of an expert by now, obviously I am quite delusional as we broke our camera on the first day in Mexico. That thrilling story will be told in my next post.
I get seasickness really easily but once I am hopped up on Dramamine and endless food and drinks I am a happy girl. Hot tubs, late night shows, games, sunshine and the salty sea spray. I loved the journey by boat almost as much as the destinations…almost 😉

Everything about Toccoa Falls on the Toccoa Falls College campus was magical. The clear water and sand were glistening like tiny jewels and the mist was refreshing on a hot day. Digging my toes in the sand I was jealous that I did not have a place this amazing to study at when I was in college. The falls were gigantic and I just wanted to sit there all day and enjoy the view!
I did eventually drag myself away from this little slice of heaven to go meet up with my Aunt who took us on a crazy off-road adventure in her Jeep to some falls that only the locals know about. I could not be more giddy getting to climb up them without signs telling me not to 😀
