From D.C. we made a short pit stop to see my sister in New Jersey and set out the next morning for Taughannock Falls State Park in the Finger lakes. This park has trails with a great view of the falls and some others that run along the rim of a giant gorge. The gorge is the closest thing the East coast has to a Grand Canyon, except it is more green with a river running down the middle. There are gates along the edges but we jumped one of them to take a peak over the edge and get some unobstructed pictures. Every park so far has had so much to offer, I wish we had amazing places like these in Florida. I would make hiking through them my day job!
