Next stop was Old San Juan, Puerto Rico which is a fairly small seaport facing the Atlantic. We ventured from the East end to the West end by foot checking out the markets along the way. We only had enough time to thoroughly investigate the Castle of San Cristobal which had the best views of both the city and the endless ocean. The fort was enormous and it was easy to get lost, but I still made it a point to check out all the different rooms, corridors, dungeons and armory. I also had some of the best empanadas for lunch in a courtyard watching an older woman trying to sell leather bags to tourists. As we spent almost the entire day walking around every corner of this city I was fairly tired and ready to rest up for the next adventure.
